Hello;
I have a Midway Infinity countertop with a Wells U3100 in it, 14". The monitor has an interference type issue with it. It jitters slightly, and has interference looking lines running through it from left to right, only slightly though.. nothing severe, just enough to be annoying.

Anyways, Wells has an awesome troubleshooting guide for most of their monitors on their website. Per the guide, I replaced D3, Ic201, C318, C301, C302, C303 and the problem persists. Also I replaced several of the caps in the SMPS section of the board. I checked the ground and video cables to make sure they were seated well too.

Any ideas? I felt sure that IC201 was going to fix it, because I just fixed a Hantarex Polo that had a bad one of those on it, but no dice!

is there an earth ground wire attached to the monitor frame by chance?

if not, hook one up, see if the interference goes away.
and if there is, try disconnecting it, see if it does the same thing.

also, make sure the ground pin on your power cord is actually attached to the earth ground points inside the cab. blah blah, you know what I'm getting at I think.

I've never encountered such an issue before, but I've read in the past that earth grounds can have something to do with it.

do you have a line filter on it too by chance? (would you know?)

I'll check over those grounds to make sure... I think there's a line filter down in there somewhere, it's kind of hard to see how they've got all that wired up on those megatouches. The power comes in, then turns into 500 wires, then there's a little power plug for the monitor, lol.

Have you tried another signal source? Could be coming from the CPU and not be a monitor problem at all.

Matt
