on a D9200 once, I had the pad burn off (back when I used a pump instead of a desoldering iron... and before I knew how to remove a neckboard [the focus wire]) and what I wound up doing was scraping the trace and folded over a transistor leg to the trace and soldered it direct.
that's one possible way, if you have enough trace to do it, to eliminate the need for tinner wires/jumpers, etc.
that's why you don't cut the legs first too. lol
