I have a Golden Tee here with a U5000 that will not fill the width on the screen. It leaves about 1" on both left and right. Is the chassis different from 25" to 27" for the U5000? Is this a common problem with the U5000? I hate to send it off to be repaired only to find out the chassis is fine, and it's the wrong tube. The colors are good, it's just not wide enough. I do not have the tools or experience to test the chassis. Just looking for advise.

Thanks!

Well, do you have the 25" or 27"? The 27" (if they made one - never seen one) would have a pincushion board. The 7500 (med-res only) has a transistor that can affect this if it's hooked up wrong or bad, but I don't know if the U5000 has one in it's med-res circuit.

And does it do it in both standard and med-res?

Tube is 27", but I am not entirely sure it's the original tube. Is there a way to know if it is the correct tube?

EDIT: This is NOT the chassis I am sending you. The one I am sending you is dead, does nothing. This one works....other than the width.

Is there a sticker on the back left corner that says WGM2750? Or does it say WGM2550? If you have a 25" chassis on a 27" tube, that would explain the black edges...

I switched it to MED res, same issue. Also replaced remote board, same issue. Will check for numbers and get back here in a few minutes.

EDIT WGM2550

It's a 25" tube, and a 25" chassis. Does it need capped and/or width coil replaced?
