thank you everyone for the help.got all the optos working now, after replacing the lm339 chips.but now have a flipper problem. all four work fine in test but during game play bottom right is real weak and upper left works half of the time, any ideas, something on the fliptroinc board going out ? thanks

Had a similar TZ issue on Indy

One thing to check out; do a thorough inspection of the opto interruptor plastics associated with the filpper buttons. You will find these inside the cab and they are the actuators for the left and right flipper buttons that open up the light beam path when you press the flipper buttons. The interruptors have plastic fins (for lack of a better description) that open up the optical path between the opto transmitter and receiver when the flipper buttons are pressed. If you look over the button system you'll see what I mean. I've seen these broken, repaired and swapped out between games (there are two species that Bally/Williams used) haphazardly. Don't underestimate the importance of these plastic interruptors; if they are wrong replace them if possible. I just fixed up an Indy Jones with exactly this issue; flipper assemblies brand new and whimpy left flipper until I replaced the interruptor. It's a subtle problem but once fixed, what a difference. Marco and pinball life sell the replacement interruptor plastics...
