Can you guys help me figure out how to change the bulb behind the Start Button? I can take off the white box from behind the button, which contains the switch. How do I get to the bulb to replace it? What kind of bulb is it? A 555? I was able to loosen the Start Button mechanism, but I still can't get to the bulb. I am a beginner at this, and I was hoping you guys can help. Thank you for your time.

It is a 555, and you need to pull off the whole assembly from the back...it doesnt seem like it comes off, but you need to pull hard and it will "snap" off.

The part the micro switch is attached to snaps out of the whole start button
assembly and the bulb is inside there...

I also have a TZ (Bally Time Zone) ,but mine doesn't have a light behind the start button. I don't see any wires or light socket. Hmm

TZ is widely known as Twilight Zone...we know you hate abbreviations, but most people use them for pinball machines..

TDC (tomdotcom)

I hate abbreviations too. I don't want to have to think that hard to figure out what TFTC is or CFTBL stands for. And those are the easy ones. But TZ is pretty obvious.

Is this the same for the TZs Extra Ball button? My light there does not work.

Thanks!

Like Tim N stated, both are the same.

My machines have the button and you have to pull it off kind of at an angle. It will snap too like you broke it, but that is the way they are.

Not real easy.

Usually you can even pop off the micro switch first, so that is not in the way.

When I put mine back on, switch off of course, I used the side of a screwdriver shaft, to push it back on evenly. Agian, they do not go back on easily!

Thanks all! I was indeed able to change the 555 in the "Extra Ball" assembly and all seems to work fine!

Always...
