Hello Everyone,

As I got a good deal on the TZ I bought I have put in a few mods that I think add to the overall effect of the game. One mod that I have been debating is the upgraded speakers and subwoofer from PinballPro. I have read on a few places that this upgrade makes the already very good sound on a TZ become incredible. However, the upgrade costs $135 (plus tax and shipping), thus before I drop ~$145 on the speakers and subwoofer I thought I might ask if anyone has done this upgrade and if they thought it was worth the money?

Thanks all!

I bought a two channel amp and a new woofer for way less and put it into my Corvette machine. I think pinball pro prices are a little high for their kits...

I'm not familiar with the precise components they use, however, a decent set of 5" or 6" car stereo speakers will run 100, and a decent sub about another 100.

You don't need nearly that much power in a home rig with low ambient noise, so I think the total package they offer is probably worth it. You can do your own research, of course, which is fun for some.

Likewise, while games like TZ and TAF had great sound, on close scrutiny it really falls into the "just okay" category. The sound is actually helped, in my opinion, by a small amount of ambient noise which masks its simplicity and lets your imagination and mental audio processing "embelish" the sound. The point is, there is only so far you can take pinball sound.
