After over a year, I've finally gotten around to restoring / shopping my TZ machine. When I recived it, it had Red bulbs and yellow bulbs used for most of the GI. Red near the bottom, and the yellow lamps everywhere else. There are currently no standard clear bulbs anywhere. So my question is this: Are the red, and yellow bulbs the correct orginial bulbs?...or are they suppose to be clear?

Thats what I was thinking. Although, the red bulbs near the flippers did look very cool. This would also explain why my playfield was so freakin dark. :) Thanks.

"This would also explain why my playfield was so freakin dark." Post a pic?

Where exactly was the red lights by the flippers? Slingshots? Let me know...

I don't know of a protocol for bulbs.

What looks good to you and, IMO, sometimes you can't tell til you put the bulbs in a power up.

We got hold of a bunch of LED lamps of all colors and we've found their slightly brighter but less harsh or "softer" illumination can really change the visual feel sometimes.

We put white but with a bluish tint LEDs under the plastics of the flipper lanes and we like the effect. We also like a few LEDs in the MB and most recently, under the slingshot plastics and flipper lanes on TAF.

Experiment until you find a bulb combination that looks best to you.
