I'm not sure if I am posting this in the correct thread.
I'm seeking assistance, opinions.
I have two xy vector cocktail tables.
Both tables are a bootleg of asteroids by hoei international.
It's called meteor.
Both cocktail tables are obsoletly mint inside.. it looks like the boards must have been removed a very very very long time ago to be serviced or repaired or heck who really knows.
The cocktail tables have obviously sat in storage for over 40 years never been turned on again.
Again I stress.. both tables are mint inside.
They are both still wired up for the board.. unmolested.

The issue is..or problem is trying to find and obtain the meteor boards is going to be near impossible..
Or maybe someone here knows someone where I can get two board sets ?
What would you do ?
I don't really want to gut these two bueaties and I feel it is critical to get them restored.
I have thought about maybe just getting Atari asteroids boards and going down that path.. meaning I will have to redo the edge connectors .
Is there another alternative that I'm not aware of? I don't recall any vector multi boards ?
This is the joy about this hobby.. you find rare shit and then you start hitting brickwalls.
Damn if you do and damned if you don't.

I have put below a photo of what the meteor board looks like.

I'd put out feelers and scope out the internet for a boardset. Hoei stuff can be found anywhere, I own two of their games. I'd bet money someone has a Meteor board in their stash. Definitely too cool of a game to gut out.

I agree with @Dillweed. While I can't help you on sourcing logic boards, don't give up if you can't find them in a week or so. These are definitely worth saving given their condition. I see so many games like this get converted to something stupid or sold for parts due to impatience. Keep digging here, Facebook, eBay and other OUS collector sites I'm not aware of and you'll eventually find what you need.

Provided that the power supply matches the requirements for Asteroids, I'd start with fabricating an adapter, starting with male edgecard connectors:

DigiKey Male Edgecard Connectors

This will preserve the existing wiring and help to supress undesireable actions like parting or modifying.

The hard part will be tracing all of the existing wiring to document the original pinouts.

Even if the power supply didn't match, I'd still wire an adapter to bypass the existing supply and use an externally mounted supply so I can retain the cabinet in original condition.

Oh bugger.. I didn't think about that.. re asteroids board fitting in the cab.
Hell no am I converting these two tables into anything else...I'm very anti LCD screens and very anti crap shit multi boards lol.
Like everything else I have I like to keep it all original.
Maybe what I will do is generate a list of all the asteroids bootlegs and research each one to see what I can fit into these cocktail tables.
If only there was a new board running just xy games... It would preserve alot of original dedication cabs.
