*** THIS HAS BEEN SPOKEN FOR ***

Money says I should part this and sell the pieces... or strip it and keep the parts for future repairs.

HOWEVER...

If you can commit to bringing this back to life either as a Tron or as a Two Tigers, then this game is yours free for the taking.

No monitor or PCB. What you see is what you get. Cabinet is filthy but solid.

Wow! Wish I was closer... I've got a complete working game, but the cab is shot(probably fall apart the next time I move it). Somebody restore this!

If I move the Guitar Freaks game two inches to the left I can squeeze it in....lol....actually I have access to a working Two Tigers a friend of mine owns to help make sure the game can be restored correctly.

This is heading to divingbuddy, first to reply.

Sorry to others that inquired... I wish I had more than one to offer.

Hope to catch you on the next one! :)

Road trip to Eagle, ID to visit with Steve at Grinkers Grand Palace. Picked up the Two Tigers cab with my cousin Jerry, Robotronguy. We spent some time chatting with Steve, checking out his new area for his expansion then checked on the prototype SW yolk he is testing for us. More about the yolk in another thread.

I want to thank Steve for the cool free game I have been looking for quite some time. It now has a home and is on its way for restoration.

I pulled the working Two Tigers pcb set and dumped the roms. I replaced one the original ribbon cables from the working pcb set. I dug through my parts and found a coin door, needs some parts. I have a spare Tron pcb set that I am going to use. I got a zip file of the roms for Tron to Two Tiger conversion. Ran the zip file in MAME and it is working. I burned the rom files to spare eprom chips I already have. Ready to test my pcb set in a working Two Tigers cab. If the rom set I downloaded does not work then I will reburn the rom images from the working Two Tigers pcb set and test again. More updates as progress is made.....

The roms are not working right, but the boards are. Time to erase eproms and burn them again. The SS I/O board is working great. The video roms need help. I found a spare MCR II power pcb, test the voltages and the outputs are correct. I am testing my spare parts on the working Two Tigers game first. Then I will tackle my game next. Th wiring is a mess and the power supply has not been tested yet.

What is even better, being an arcade parts hoarder and digging through all your totes finding the parts you need. Because you told yourself to keep those parts, and someday you might need them. I am slowly getting all the parts gathered and testing them to make sure they are working. I reburned the eproms today using the roms files pulled from a working converted Tron to Two Tigers pcb. Testing the pcb tomorrow, cross my fingers...it should work this time.

I tested my converted pcb from Tron to Two Tigers after reburning all the roms from another working conversion pcb set.

Success!!!! It is working!!!

Now on to cleaning up the wiring and the inside of the cab. One step closer!

I worked more on the Two Tigers today. I cleaned the inside and outside. I am amazed at how good it looks now. I found a couple of surprises in the bottom of the cab in the front under the coin box. I found the conversion manual, 3 quarters and a nickle that someone compressed to the size of a quarter and must have tried to use it to get a free game. That was a first finding a nickle like that in a game. The marquee, CP and the bezel cleaned up nicely. I checked all the fuses, all good. Powered up the transformer and the marquee light came on, all good signs. I did not have time to continue working on the game, needed to go to work. More progress being made. Still have a few other items to install before installing the the power pcb and the the game pcb. The coin door is mounted but I still need the wire harness for the coin door. More digging through my parts to find what I need.

I install the power pcb, powered up the game and I am getting a loud hum through the speakers. Powered the game down , Unplugged the audio amplifier connectors, powered the game on, the hum is gone. Installed a working audio amplifier and no hum in the speakers. Tested the voltages at the pcb edge connector, 5v 12v is good. So looks like I need to meter the audio amplifier. Maybe replace the heatsink transisters? More updates soon.
