I can happily say that I have finally finished my two restorations I began simultaneously back in April.

I'll try to sum up each one.

The first restoration was of a Frogger that had no woodgrain vinyl remains and had been painted black. The monitor in it was not original (and had MAJOR issues) and the board was a bootleg. Long story short, I threw a G07 in there with an original board, and all new artwork, including a NOS wico stick and so forth. Instead of going with new woodgrain vinyl, I decided it'd be cool (and fun) to go slightly off course and do the cabinet in a "frog" green. In the end, I'm REALLY happy I did because I love it!

The second restoration was of a Centipede cabaret. There really wasn't anything wrong with this one. The game worked and everything was original. I rebuilt the G07 that was in there and rebuilt the trackball. I decided to go with the illuminated mini ball and button and think they look really cool. I also added a light behind the marquee to add to everything. The woodgrain sides were intact, but were pretty dinged up so I decided to do something similar to the upright. I painted the sides white and slapped on the sideart (which I got from mamemarquees and am REALLY happy with.) Then I threw on some green t-molding to compliment the colors. Again, I'm really happy I did because I love it!

I'll first start with before/after photos of the Frogger...

Bravo! No wood grain. It never was the kind of game that needed it.

I'm usually a resto-type person and don't like to change from original, but the Frogger looks good in green. I think I like it better than the woodgrained sides.

+1 on the green!

Considering what you started with, the Frogger turned out great. It's cool to see someone do something different.

I always figured a Frogger would look great in green, as I have the mini coleco version, and it is green. Where did you get the trackball and blue button? I was thinking of doing the same on my 'Pede, but in green. But I cannot find a green translucent 2.25" ball....

Bob Roberts.

Thanks for all the compliments!

nice job, i love the green on the frogger, but ti me the dark blue t-molding is totally off and doesn't fit AT ALL. would have gone with black or grey, but not blue! blue and green bite ...

I prefer the dark blue t-molding. It matches the marquee blue perfectly, which has both blue and green in it - along with the buttons ;)

Many people have speculated on the green, but you went ahead with it. I must say, it looks nice. The front does seem to be missing something or perhaps the front should have been black to break it up. All in all, though, nice job I really like the sides.

it does??? looks much darker to me than both the marquee's blue and the buttons, but that might be just the pics. but who cares, if you're happy with it, it's a winner - as simple as that!

Love the green, not a fan of the t-molding - I think black would look better. Kudos to you for being a rebel though!
