Alright, a couple more questions about my father's Terminator 2 pin.

1) The other day his right flipper stopped working. Well, I found out one of the wires had just unsoldered so that was an easy fix. But, I did also notice that at the flipper button there is a brown ceramic disc capacitor wired in. On the left flipper button it looks great but on the right flipper button it looks like the capacitor burned up. The flipper still works fine so is this something that needs to be replaced? I can get more details about the type of cap and a picture if need be.

2) Occassionally when the ball is shot from the "holding area" onto the shooting lane it pops it out and it bounces right back into the "holding area" (I really need to learn more of the correct pin terminology). Anyways, more often than not it shoots the ball out in front of the plunger just fine but every once in awhile it bounces back in the holding area then shoots it out again. Sometimes this repeats a couple times, sometimes it's only once. I did notice a very tiny bit of wear on the edge of the shooting lane which might make it so the ball just isn't catching on the lane but I figured I'd ask here first before I tried anything. Again, I can get pics if need be.

Thanks.

my hs2 did the same thing. There is a setting that will make the bumpers hit softer. I changed that setting to low and it took care of the problem.

Before I did that I just put a piece of insulated tape in the lane where it shot against and that also solved the problem... Not exactly fixed, but it worked fine.

I had similar problems with my T2. I found that the ball shooter coil assembly gets loose and does not shoot the ball straight.
Lift the playfield up and pull it out far enough to rest above the coin door. There are two screws on the end of the playfield that hold the metal cover behind the flippers. Remove the screws and push the metal cover forward and lift out.
Now examine the two screws that hold the shooter coil assembly. See if they are loose and try to tighten them. If they are stripped, you can break the ends of toothpicks off, dip them in wood glue and put them in the stripped hole. Let it dry and then try the screw again. Make sure the shooter coil assembly is straight with the ball lane.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to both of you. I will look into both options.

Anyone know about that burned up cap on the right flipper button? Should it be replaced even though the flipper still works fine?

Yes replace it, just so it gives you piece of mind that it's done, otherwise you'll kill yourself over it bongo if you dont, so just replace it and you'll have piece of mind. It's what I would do anyway! Also while your at it rebuild your flippers and pop-bumpers, buy some lights, and rubber kit for it as well, I have a feeling we will hear from you again!

Thank you for the wonderfully kind words.
