i just got a candy cab with a 27 inch monitor there is no burn in what so ever and the back is spotless also but i have an 60 in 1 board in the machine and i also tried a 6 in 1 board my question on the monitor you can see a faint twinkling star effect going throu the whole monitor when the game is on has anybody ever seen this before its hardely noticable but you can see the twinkling behind the game picturei was just wondering if its because its such a big monitor i disconnected the game board and you can still se what looks like twinkling stars on the monitor ?

Sounds like electrical interference. Try running a ground wire from your PS ground to your monitor frame...

i tried grounding to the frame but no diffrence. the chassi is mounted on a plastic cage seperate below the monitor the only wires i see going to the chassi are the 120 volt cord the wires that go to the board that conects to the back of the tube and the 4 wires for verticle and horizontle and 2 for degaussing i see no other ground going to the chassi so basicly the only ground i see going to the chassi is the power cord ?

The screws holding the chassis to the frame, as well as the dag wire, should be ground enuff.

But I meant the ground from the cab's power supply to the monitor frame...

chassi not mounted to frame

the chassi is not mounted to the frame it mounted on a plastic box that sits on the floor of the cabnet so i need to find where to connect a ground on the chassi itself since it is not mounted to the metal frame. i will try to up some pics so you can see what im talking about. whats a dag wire?

some pics

some chassi pics. should i use the heatsink for a grounding spot ? since the chassi is not bolted down anywhere have you ever seen flashing specs like this before
on the third pic? they look just like twinkling stars in the first pic you can see the chassi just slides into a slot on a plastic cage its not grounded anywere the power cord only has a 2 prong plug where it plugges in. here is a link for better high res pics. http://profile.imageshack.us/user/j2963/

That metal wall on the side should be ground...

i just want to say thank you for your the only only one to respond to my questions
i will tinker some more with the grounds and let you know what happens. have you ever seen what apeers to be like twinkling stars on a monitor befor?

Your ground strap around the monitor is properly grounded right? I was working on a K7000 that had a similar effect because the tube itself had the ground strap not attached to any ground.

the ground strap is plugged into the neckboard. i guess i will have to try a long piece of wire and ground it to the monitor frame the heatsink on the chassi and then to the metal part of the game where the power cord from the wall socket is grounded to. the transformer only has 2 wires coming in from the wall power cord then 2 wires coming out of the transformer to the monitor power conector the transformer itself is also bolted to a plastic cage like the chassi with no ground wire. i guess thats how these candy machines are made?
