I have a friend looking to buy a Twilight Zone Pinball machine. Are there different versions of this machine? What do they sell for in nice shape?

Anyone know somebody in the general Michigan area (Ohio & Indiana) that might have one for sale?

Thanks!

My favorite pin... i never see them sell less than 5,000.00

As with most pinball machine production runs there are differences between the prototypes, sample games and the regular production runs. The games are basically the same except the proto games usually have features that were deleted from the production games due to costs. Bally/Williams usually made 12-15 protos of their 1990's games, about 100-200 sample games and the rest were the production run. In addition to some of the extra stuff that the proto games had sometimes there was different artwork.

Here are the differences between the TZ proto and production games:

I have owned several Bally/Williams proto games over the years. Here is my proto FH (Funhouse) pin that I had. Lots of differences on this game.

Some people have swapped and/or modded their playfield to add a third magnet. Apparently this was planned to be included originally but cut at the last minute to save cost. Theres an option to use this magnet built into the ROM.

And then theres all kind of silly toys to add on that may/ may not effect the value of the machine.

I would expect a $5000 TZ to be in nice shape. I would say a 'players' machine would be worth $3 to $4K
