I have a Twilight Zone Pinball Machine, which is shutting down when the 3-ball multiball occurs or when the ball hits the magnet. I have had the machine serviced, caps replaced. There is an electrical issue in the house where I live: the power is 115-117 on a good day, not 120.

Is there anything I can do, any "fix," so that the game will not suddenly turn off while I am playing it, or is this going to happen until I get a source of electricity that is at least 120? Will the machine have any damage by trying to play it on the lower voltage I get from the house? Thanks for the help.

When you say the machine shuts off, does it require you to power cycle the system to get it to come back up, or is it just bliping off then back on? I read 115VAC out of all my sockets in my house, and dont have any issues like this, even with 5 pins going. AC doesnt, at least shouldnt, vary. The reading should be constant regardless of load, unless things are wired horribly wrong.

The machine shuts off, then it comes back on. It also does this when I first turn the machine on sometimes: the machine goes on for a few seconds, the clock winds, then the machine shuts off, it turns back on a second later, then shuts off, then back on. Then it will shut off during the multiball and then again when the balls are stopped by the magnets. Any thoughts?

1. Possible power issues at your outlet. Measure AC voltage and report back
2. Bridge Rectifiers on the Power Driver Board. Common issue.

Check or replace the C4 cap and you might want to look at your voltage regulator if your planning on replacing the bridges.

On the advice of someone, I nail-filed the pins of the plug on the board that connect to the AC power. That helped remove any oxidation. The shutting off has stopped, and I can finally play the game without interruption. Thanks for everyone's suggestions and help.
