So I'm getting ready to sell my Twilight Zone and I'm going through making sure everything is working, shopped, etc, you know the drill. Well, out of nowhere the Coin Door switches stop working.

Here's what I've done so far to troubleshoot:
- Test for continuity from switch wires to the PCB right inside the coin door. Good
- Test for continuity from the connections on the PCB to the other side of the PCB. Good
- Test for continuity from Harness on the PCB all the way to the harness in the Back Box. Good
- I CAN NOT jumper the wires to simulate the buttons from the wires from the switches.
- I CAN NOT jumper the wires to simulate the buttons from the harness that goes from the switches to the PCB.
- I CAN NOT jumper the wires to simulate the buttons from the harness that goes from the PCB to the Back box.
- I CAN jumper the contacts on the CPU board to simulate the switches and get into the menu, etc.

So.....anyone have any ideas of where I may have missed something? Any help would be very much appreciated.

First thing to do is check your CPU for battery corrosion or past repairs for it. It takes out the diagnostic stuff first.

LTG : )

Yup, happened to me with a Funhouse. Corroded/eaten away traces underneath the chips under the battery holder. Took several frustrating hours to repair.

Sorry, I guess I should have mentioned that the CPU board is brand new as well as the Video display board.

The only thing I can even think of is that the end on the harness that goes to the CPU board has corroded on the inside. The old CPU board did have corrosion. As I was writing down the steps in the post I started to think about the only point of failure that I can't or haven't check, and it started to get pretty clear where my problems has to be. Time to order some ends and see what happens.

Now the "order and wait for parts to arrive" game. :(

Yep that was it. The outside of the harness was fine, but he ground wire on the inside had corroded off. Found a spare connector and boom!...we're back in business.
