Anyone have any interest in a modded nintendo wii? I dont have pics right now cause everything is at my girlfriends house. Heres what would be included:

System is in excellent condition, no marks or scuffs

Nintendo Wii System with all cables/senor bar
2 Wiimotes
2 nunchucks
Classic Controller
2 WiiZappers
Balance board
2 Gamecube controllers

I have between 60-80 games including like 12 classics on the wii
Some titles:
Wii Punchout
Super Mario Galaxy
Mario Kart wii & Double Dash
House of the dead 2&3
Trauma Center 1&2

Classics included are:
Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3
Super mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Punch out
Super punch out
Super Ghouls and Ghosts
Kirbys adventure
Donkey kong
Balloon Fight
Gunstar heros
Altered beast
Blades of steel
Sky kid
Puzzle Bobble

I have been able to play online, The modchip has been patched to work with super mario galaxy and every game I have. Newest updates installed! so no fear there.

I am asking 425 shipped. I think thats fair since the system/modchip cost me like 350 not to mention all the accessories.

bump, no offers?

As far as the amount of games you have listed, are these genuine games or burned DVD's? Running off an external hard drive by chance? Might want to specify.

Not trying to preach but if these are illegal copies then these should have zero influence on your asking price. You should then be listing hardware price only.
Either way good luck on your sale

I understand, Couple things. They are burned dvds, and run off the wii not an external hard drive. The wii has a mod chip which allows them to play, They influence price because blank dvds are not free. maybe burning them but not buying them. And like I said the asking price is that way because of the accessories and what it cost to mod the system.

Gameroomkid, the super G&G is in the wii virtual console under the snes category

Ill have pics tuesday I think, and a list of games tuesday as well

I'm trying to help your sale not bust your chops.
I had a Dreamcast with over 300 ISO's burned to em. I sold the system for hardware cost. I spent 2 months of my life and in the end gained nothing and lost 2 months of my life. So even with your mindset that someone needs to pay for your DVD's, you can spend $35 at Walmart and buy a 100 pack of single layer DVD's. That's .35 a piece. Now take that times 60 or 80 - then in essence you should be adding no more than $35.00 to your asking price.

Serious question for you. (and sorry to hijack your thread)
The modchip: Maybe I don't understand something so if I'm incorrect please correct me - but is there anything a soft mod can't do that a modchip can do? I can play "backup" copies of any game I have using a softmod. Ever since they relased USBloader, cIOS and using an external hard drive or Gecko and the likes if you must use the DVD player.
Other than flashing NAND and taking the small risk of a brick how is a mod chip superior?

Hey lol I never said you were busting my chops, I kindly answered the questions, and I dont think you understood my original post. I never asked for the cost of the games. I said I want the price for the cost of the mod chip, and the system with the accessories. I said the dvds werent free but like you said there cheap, and I did not add them in account of my asking price. Also the virtual console games were paid for out of pocket, not a illegal thing, they cost me around 40-60

About the modchip, I got this when the system came out. There were no soft mods at the time. And I dont know how to answer your question as to whether the mod chip is superior or not? Also the modchip is able to be patched, Super Mario galaxy came with an update and nintendo tried to stop modded wiis from running it, I in turn got an upgrade for my chip which went around that. I dont think thats possible with a soft mod but then again I dont have anything soft modded so Idk how it works?? I really dont know how to answer that question because I have no experience with a soft mod sorry..

Will trade, Looking for Atomiswave motherboard, or Naomi set up (ill add cash if necessary), or Supergun with joysticks, or open to offers

Price seems reasonable to me:

Nintendo Wii System with all cables/senor bar $250 new
2 Wiimotes $40
2 nunchucks $20
Classic Controller $20
2 WiiZappers $30
Balance board $80
2 Gamecube controllers $10

So a new price on this gear would be $450 and by me a hardware mod costs about $90 installed. The downloaded/purchased virtual console titles follow the hardware so you can add about another $30 for those.

So overall I think the price is pretty close. I know the local tech here sells them for $450-500 ea new with hardware mods in them and can't keep any inventory.

As for hardware vs software. Here are my thoughts on it:

Hardware costs more up front to install but gives you the advantage of being able to have less risk on system updates which could brick the console. The software mods are visible by Nintendo and could potentially trigger a system brick if detected during an os system update which are embedded into the games even now. Software mods will require additional updating as well but would give you the option of an external usb hard drive.

Good luck with your sale/trade and no I do not know this seller personally.

Other than flashing NAND and taking the small risk of a brick how is a mod chip superior?

You could do all the updates and play online with a hardware mod. If you try any of that with a software mod your DVD-ROM will be disabled. The hardware mod is also much easier to update when it's needed.

Wow, thank you both very much for helping!

Thanks to both of you for helping clear up the difference in soft mod and hard mod, I had no idea about them so I am glad I know!

And yes I have every update on the wii now, and its working like a champ, Never been bricked or the like, system settings menu still active and no duplicate channels. Thanks again guys!

Many people are wary of used equipment/electronics that may be glitchy, have worn/intermittant contacts, and looks 'used'. I'd rather buy a new sealed box unit on E-Bay and get the factory warranty.

Sorry Streetz but this needs to be straightened out ;)
"Softmodding doesn't allow online gaming": False. I've been playing online for 4 months now and yet my DVDROM also continues to work. There is no console banning going on as of "yet".
Modchips - I would 100% agree it's easier to update your system. The only downfall to softmods at this point is the few hoops to jump through to update to the latest system menu and channels which is also do-able but completely unecessary unless you have old software that doesn;t recognize SDHC cards.

If your system craps out and has to be sent in and Nintneod finds Homebrew and the likes installed, it has been said Nintendos repair cost is damn near the cost of a new Wii. I don;t want a pissing match but considering my inboxx was pounded about this people need to be educated.

Anyway Streetz good luck to you and I'm done posting about this.

sorry your inbox was pounded?? I have no idea why and hope you didnt think I had anything to do with that. Again like I said I didnt know the differences between the two. I have had a flashed xbox which I would think meant soft mod cause there wasnt a chip in there and I couldnt be online with that. All I know is the wii has a hardmod and has every update, never once had a problem except with mario galaxy and all that meant to me was to update the chip which was done in 3 mins via a disc with the update on it. As said before Online play works, I have played medal of honor a lot online and also downloaded many games from the virtual console.

Thanks to everyone for the educational debate (not sarcastic), Still taking offers!
