I know I have seen a website listing known TVs that have the correct tube for different monitors. Anyone know this site? Looking for a junk TV that has a nice tube I can steal and put in a WG K7000.
Thanks Mod,
Probably should have mentioned it was for a 25" K7000.
I think that donor TV site is the one I have seen before? Don't see it on there though...
I've done quite a few 25k7000 tv donors. Good Will store is awesome for finding these. I usually hit them on half price electronics day and get a TV for around 20 bucks. I've found that mid to late 90's TV's work the best and as for brands I look for Phillips or RCA if I can. Usually works out pretty good. Something that you may need to do though is add spacers into the mounting area. The tubes I've found don't always have the mounting ears in the same location that arcade mounting ears are located. But 4 X 1 1/2 inch spacers does the trick nicely. Just like the others said, measure the ohms and go..
here is a great site that demonstrates measuring ohms. Use it to measure your current tube and compare it to your donor. Vertical should be 6-12 ohms and Horizontal should be 1.5 or higher.
