Ok, so instead of using a 21' PC monitor could i use a 19' tube TV? I am going to use the 60in1 with a vga port so i would also need some sort of composite (yellow video rca cable) to vga? So does that cable exist? and can i use a TV?

Sorry for being so naive...

Thanks!

If you are using the VGA port on a 60-in-1, then you should really use a PC monitor; as that will be "plug n' play".

On a 19" TV it is going to look like crap, because it sounds like you are using one that only has composite input (nearly bottom of the barrel in terms of image quality; the only thing worse is RF). In any event, to do this, you will need Jrok's device that StreetzKing linked to, and you will need to use the standard resolution (15 KHz) RGB output of the 60-in-1 with it (you can't use the VGA output in conjunction with Jrok's device).

BTW, you should easily be able to get a 21" PC monitor (try Craigslist) for less money than Jrok's device costs.

How come it wouldn't work with the adapter i found?

* Please, check your PC & Video Card manual or manufacturer to make sure that your VGA card has TV-Out function capability through the VGA connector

because a 60-1 doesn't output a tv out signal.

Because there is nothing inside it that will magically convert a 31 Khz @ 60 Hz RGB signal to a 15 KHz @ 29.97 Hz (NTSC) composite video signal. It is only meant to work with computer video cards that have "TV-Out" functionality via the VGA port; in which case, the video card sends the correct NTSC (compatible with a TV) signal in the first place. That adapter does nothing on its own other than provide the correct paths for the signals.

It is funny how that adapter has a 2 out of 5 star rating; no doubt from people who believe in magic and were disappointed when it didn't do anything magical when connected to their non TV-Out-capable video card.

Don't be an ass, lol. Im sorry about my lack of knowledge about conversions and signals. I am a 19 year old college student, i don't have that much time to learn about analog displays and the innards of televisions and monitors or signal paths. I am more into the cosmetics and collecting of machines and am trying to get it to work cheaply.

Anyway, how much does that device cost? I realize it says to contact him but i don't want to waste his time incase it is out of my price range.

how about one of these???

i have something similar in my frogger, it works fine.

I would offer you a nice 21" pc monitor I'm going to toss, but no idea where you are located.

Go to your local Goodwill or other thrift store, you can usually find them cheap there. You can also find them on Craigslist cheap. I've picked up 19"-20" LCD's for $20-$25 each.
