I just did a tube swap on a k7000 and it went great. Shortly after though the flyback that had a few cracks in it started sparking. I don't have a spare flyback on hand and started thinking, would the flyback on the TV chassis be compatible since it's driving the same tube/yoke?

Do you guys harvest anything off the tv besides the tube/yoke?

no never in my opinion!!! too many internal differences in the primary and secondary windings that its not worth trying even if the pinout will fit the pcb. especially since the k7000 flyback is so readily available. we stock them too.

Thanks for the reply. I've never been one to harvest used components but I thought I remembered someone saying something about re-using the flybacks. I'll wait for the mailman.

flybacks shouldnt be messed with. Replace them with the proper part. As security said, too many variances between them to take any chances.

Loads of stuff. HOTs, vertical deflection ICs and other ICs, RGB amps, PTCs, CRT sockets, convergence strips, coils, coil formers, connectors, wires, wire twist ties, heat sinks and accessories and much more. Oh and of course also complete chassis since in Europe they take RGB in. In the last 7 years I've opened up nearly 6000 TVs so you can imagine how much stuff I have now.
