How collectible is turbo sit down version and what is it worth?? I used to play this one a lot in the 80's is it worth buying?

The cockpits are a pain. Even tho great game but that will take up 2-3 spots if you want to collect. Up to you tho. I was thinking of lying that Turbo.

If you have a garage arcade, cockpits are great because you don't have to bring them down the stairs. If you have a basement arcade, you better have strong friends or $$ to pay movers. This explains why my games are in the garage.

I had a Turbo cockpit and it is easier to move than an upright. The machine breaks apart into two pieces easily. Heck, a buddy of mine and I just carried the seat part into the basement because it was that light. The monitor end had to be on the hand truck, but I remember that it was easier to move up and down steps than a typical upright.

Fun game but not really well-loved or worth the most. I sold mine back in 2003 for $400, which was the top end of the scale at that time. I don't think the price has varied too much from that point. Of course, condition and working or not are important factors.

Cool, that helps me out. Thanks for the input

I have an Outrun sitdown deluxe model in my basement...there's two sitdown models, standard and deluxe, depending on whether it has the fiberglass wheel pieces on the side.

It was one of those holy grail things I wanted, whether or not it was a holy grail to anyone else, didn't really matter...so i took the thing pretty much fully apart, did some paintwork on the fiberglass, then moved it downstairs...and reassembled.

The base doesn't come apart - it's a solid steel welded together box...you can pull things out of it to make it lighter, but nothing is quite light enough to make moving something that big...and solid steel - more managable. After looking at it for a while I decided to pass on the 'give my buddies beers and hope i don't have eventual medical bills to pay them for', and instead, I hired some piano movers to come over and they made it look like cake...basically put a canvas material down the center of the stairs, and lowered it down the stairs against that. It went down a flight of stairs without damaging anything and they did it super fast..they thought it was easy money...didn't cost much to do, either.

The whole thing together weighs like 750lbs, and is a lot of fun when one of the bottom wheels are missing or stuck or rusted or whatever... but it all depends on your level of sanity on how far you want to go with it! :)

You can often squeeze a single classic era cockpit into a gameroom without taking up multiple slots, particularly if you can get it in a corner.

Thanks for all your input, I bought it..decided to make it mine got it for $300 which I honk was pretty good, hardly any burn in. I do need to locate a coin door for it and a couple misc pieces.
