I have a MK2 that has a bad tube. (I think). I dont have another chassis to connect to the tube nor do I have another tube to connect to the chassis. The voltage on the chassis to tehe tube look good. 130 v b+ 430 and tube guns all have same voltages on white screen.
The Tube is A63LIC36X I found a sanyo TV with an A63AFX32X. I Know that the A63 is 25inches in cm. I cant remember what the other 6 letters and numbers are for. ANYONE?? I look up the Numbers on the B-K chart and I didnt find an exact number match. A63AFX on donor tube and A63L on original tube. both are the same cr numbers. have not checked for ohmage on Donor tube. but I read on 8liners that yo can add resistor to lower or make higher the OHMage on the yoke. ANY Other help or caution I need to know about before I try this on the 30th of this month?

Thanks Have a Great Turkey Day all

You cannot add resistors to a yoke to suit your needs.

Impedance ≠ resistance.

Best bet is to try the chassis on the donor tube. See what you get.

Well, compare the ohm readings from both yokes first. If they don't match, can't you just take the old yoke and put it on the donor tube?

Yeah says on http://junknet.net/donor-tvs that you can. Just says you'll have to do more adjustments when your done. Main thing is tube gotta be right size and if the neck board socket matches up. I'm trying to figure this thing out now so been reading up on it.

Update on my tube swap.

For all out there. I really couldnt find info. about how close the yoke measurements had to be. Only that some yokes are high impedence and some are low. My measurements on the origanal tube was 1.7 Horizontal Deflection (Red&Blue)and 9.2Vertical Deflection(Green&Yellow) warmed up. The Donor Tube 1.6 Horizontal Deflection (Red&Blue)and 8.3 Vertical Deflection(Green&Yellow) cold.T his is close enough for keeping the yoke and rings intact on donor tube. I measured this cold and the number was lower on both measurements then what I post here. The donor Tube had close to the same tube numbers. Info. on the net was that first three numbers are the size. THe last three are the type of phospherus used. THe last letter being x. I will have to size the picture a litlte but other then that convergence was good and picture looked great. WOOOHOOO. 20 dollar tv from good will.

From http://www.junknet.net/donor-tvs:

IMPORTANT FACT: Usually if a yoke is within an ohm or two of the original yoke for BOTH readings, it may work ok. If one reading is drastically different, like 10 or more ohms, that yoke is not compatible and the original must be swapped to the new tube. If you get lucky and find a yoke that's compatible - leave it on the new tube.
