Ok, so I've been reading up on tube swaps. I'm going to replace the 20EZ I got with one that's for sale in my area, it needs a flyback, so no biggie. That leaves me with the original monitor and chassis that has a broken neck. I've read that in order to swap tubes it needs to be from a TV manufactured in the 80's to early 90's. I was a a yard sale and the women had a flat screen TV sitting in the junk pile nearby. I asked her if it was free and she said help yourself. The only thing that was wrong was the power button was stuck. I loaded it in the truck and took it home. I tore the back off it and was surprised to discover it was a Sanyo tube (same as Nintendo 20EZ tube) with the same size neck and the correct pins (10). The only thing is, it was manufactured in 2005. I realize that I would probably have to swap the yokes. Is this a doable thing, will it just not work or am I going to blow up the house and piss off the wife? Is resolution problem in this swap. I think a flat screen monitor would sure look sweet in a vid game.

Must not be compatible. I found the number for the 20EZ (510WEB22) but not the donor (A51QDX). This also make it a 20 inch. I got another, it's not flat screen but it's a 19inch, the wife said I can have it. Later I'll check into that. Thanks for the help.

ohm out the yoke on the doner tube and compare to the broken one. you might not have to swap the yoke if they are close.

The EZ tube is also a 20".

Do both tubes have the same number of pins?

Both tubes have the same pins (10).

The physical dimensions of the mounting holes (tabs) are off. The donor tubes mounting holes are about a 1/2 wider in both width and height. If the mounting lugs could be removed from the frame, it's possible the tube could be mounted in the frame.

Here's what I got...
Broken EZ... 54.3 and 2.7
Flat Screen donor... 6.4 and 9.4 I think that's to far out of range?

That's a CR23 tube, should be easy to find a donor tube. Can't seem to find the Q51QDX anywhere to verify if it will work or not.

Even though it has it listed as a 20" tube you may have to use an A48XXXXXX tube being the mounting holes won't line up with most TV A51xxxxxx tubes.

I checked the other donor tube... It's and Admiral TV with a Sharp tube. The impedance readings are as follows...

3.8 and 14.9

It's tube number is "A48QAD220X". It's listed in the B & K compatibility chart but has 2 asterisks next to it. Does anyone know what the asterisks denote?

Asterisk just means the BK 490B needs a special adapter to use with that tube.
