I have a few donor monitors that I'd like to reuse and I'm wondering what kind of chassis I need for them. Here are the tube specs:

1. 19" Matsushita Tube pulled from Pole Position. Monitor still looks great, but the Matsushita chassis is dead. I'd rahter use another type of chassis instead of repairing the Matsushita. Here is the info pulled from the back of the tube:

Chassis Number: NMX-L21G
Model Number: TM-202G

2. 19" Chunghwa tube (pulled from RCA TV) Not sure which one the numbers listed below is the model number. Can I use this??

A48AGY13X55
CPJ510CKAY1S-TC
F3282069T516

Thanks for the help!

Tube model is the A48 #

I believe to tube model number is : A48AGY13X55

As for chassis, you need to figure on the pinout and size of the neck(s)

There are a couple companies that are making "universal chassis" and there are a few posts here about them.

If you replace the chassis with a different one, you may have to swap the yoke from the tube as well.

Guys, save this link...

Thats the setup guide for the B&K tube rejuvinator. Its also a perfect guide to tell you what socket a particular tube is.

A48GY13X is a cr-23 which means its a great donor. A48 means its a 19" tube so it'll fit. Conrgrats!

PS - Get me the model or chassis # off that tv!

ALSO - Pole Position monitor is a CR-31 I believe, and not many if any other monitors use that particular tube. I happen to have a parts chassis for it if you want to try to fix it. Supposedly its a wierdo chassis since its really a tv minutes the tuner parts. IF you look half the board is blank.

See if anyone needs a pole position tube and trade em for a monitor or useable donor tube maybe?

CR-31 is not particular to Pole Position. the 8-pin K7000 monitors are CR-31.

if anyone needs to post a tube adapter, please list the tube # or chassis type, not the game it is in...

I don't believe that this swap will work because the Matsushitsa tube has an odd ball neck. You will be better off finding a more common arcade chassis such as a WG K4900 or G07. These chassis will fit the tube you have.

OK, here's what I have for numbers on the TV chassis:

D315DD0G5H
F19421W

Does that sound right?

Yup the First couple letters/numbers denote the size. A48/A51 etc are metric numbers, A48=19" and A51=20". Someone on here mentioned using A51 tubes in certain monitors, but all that I've tried were failures. They're probably compatible with the chassis but the tube mounting ears don't like up.

Just to make it clear, the Matsushita tube is garbage for all intents and purposes, because if the Matsushita chassis is not working, the will not work with any of the other 19" arcade game chassis' from the 80s? At least that how it was told to me. (I have two non-working Matsushitas with near perfect tubes). :(

Also, I've been having a difficult time finding any 19" TV tubes on Staten Island. (It's like everyone already threw out their old CRTs and there are no Goodwill's or similar that sell much in the way of electronics. At least not without trying to charge brand new TV prices).

Anyway, a week ago I received a "Saved search" link from Ebay for an RCA and on a whim I put a tracking bid of $0.99 on the TV and forgot about it.

The auction ended with me as the only bidder, so on a whim I checked Junknet and as luck would have it the RCA F19421 is on the list, and has a CR-23 tube. :D

I then found this thread today and was just hoping to get information on what chassis the OP matched the A48AGY13X55 to and weather or not it's yoke was kept with it.

Thanks.
