Tube Swap Question

So assuming this will not work but figured I would ask. Have two tube that look alike... They have the wg serial numbers. Respectively wg43420 and a wg910277.

Tested the yokes... Wg43420 was 35.9 and 2.7. the wg910277 was 8.0 and 2.5

No go right?

Hey man it's Matt from the other side of town. I just did 2 tube swaps last week. Those were with a K7000 chassis with a consumer 19" TV tube. I can say that the vertical windings are more forgiving than horizontal but those readings are too far apart. The one swap I did the readings were about 2 ohms different and it looks perfect. The other, the horizontal was about 4 ohms off and it looks ok but horizontal linearity is off and there doesn't seem to be a way to correct that. Looks like you'll have to swap yokes if you do that one. I've always been too afraid to try that because converging can be a pain.
 
So, this might be worth looking into... I've had a couple of tubes that I have swapped now in a similar situation.

Often the tubes with the lower impedance have 2 coils wound in parallel, and I have successfully modified it so that they were in series, making it approximately 4x the original impedance. I assume you can do the opposite if you have a 4x the desired impedance with two coils wound in series.

Not all of the tubes with a low impedance have two coils in parallel, but some do. I'm also not saying this will work for everyone every time, but I am saying that it has worked for me.
 
Looks like the # pins on the tubes might be different, if so, you are not going to be able to swap them and keep using the same chassis.
