I am swapping a tv tube (toshiba a48KZL70x).
I ordered a universal chassis from Victor at 8liners.com

Can these red, blue, yellow, and green wires coming from the yoke be cut and spliced without having any problems???

The connector isn't the normal ones that I am used to that have a slit in them that you can depress the tab on the pins to remove...i can't get these out !
splicing sucks, but if i can put some heat shrink tubing on after I solder these wires together would that work?
other suggestions?

Yoke wiring

Will I am not an expert but I do know that the yoke wires can be spliced into the boards yoke outwires without burning anything up. Most time in TV and Computer monitors red blue go together and yellow green go together. I just connected a pacman game up 2 weeks ago. The worst thing that will happen is that your video picture will be inverted in some way if you get it wrong. Color rings will need to be adjusted but make sure the focus is set first.

Yes sir!

You can cut the wires and splice on any connector you want.. I actually just did this a few hours ago.. Pulled a 19" tv tube and installed it into a 4900 frame.. Then tossed in a k7000 rebuilt chassis, added new yoke connector and degauss connector to the donor tube.. Now I've got a brand new monitor!

So cool.
