I picked up a 19" tube from a TV to swap with my WG4900 . Well all the pins line up , I think theres 9 pins , but the bottom plastic part thats shaped like a triangle is a little too wide , keeping the neck board from sliding into place . Can I modify it to fit ? Everything else looks good ,

Are you sure the tube is compatible? Sounds like they are different sockets.

Yeah the socket is probably different .

Its a sony tube from 1994 , # A51LDG50X

I'm thinking buying a new chassis would be the thing to do , if I wanna use it .

That tube does use the same socket but it is a 20" tube, not 19". Chances are pretty good that the yoke will not fit this tube and if the yoke fits it may not fit properly into an arcade frame.

Is this a Trinitron? If so it is not compatable.

Yeah its a Trinitron ,

Finding the right tube is hard .

it gets easier once you know what your looking for. wood grain sides, 19", mfg date in the early 80's and there's a good chance it can work. i've found 3 of these tv's in my area which are a cr-23 socket everytime, yoke is a compatible with a wg4600. "zenith space command"

Thanks for the pic !

A reference page with pics of TVs with the right tubes would make things way easier , than picking one up off craigslist and not knowing till you open it up that it won't work .

The 20" TVs always fool me .

"space command" what the hell ?

I feel for you. I have been through it seems like a dozen TV's. Mostly wood grains from the 80's and a few 90's models. None of them were cr23 or cr31 like I need. Good luck.

Obviously I'm not the only one with this problem. If I don't find any compatible tubes soon, I'll have to chuck about 1/2 dozen chassis' into the trash.

picked up a 1989 Panasonic TV , its a 19 inch , tube # A48JJY81X , does it work with any chassis ?

That tube should be compatable with most arcade chassis'. It is a CR23 tube. Check the resistance across the yoke pairs and report back. This may be a drop in swap...

Holy Crap Batman !!!

I got this one for free too........ I shouldn't get too exicted yet . I'll check it out and report back soon .

nice job....the tube is compatible no matter what....once you get the yoke readings we will see if you have to go thru the headache of convergence.

Man I've had really good luck with 25" tv's from the late 90's being compatible w/ WG k7000 chassis. My wife had her olld Phillips Magnavox 25" from college(1999) and it was a drop in swap. And her dad has another 25" Phillips Magnovox dated 1996 that is also a drop in for the WG k7, though he still uses it at his office for the time being. I'm trying to talk him into updating to an LCD :)

Dude, you made my day. I'm needing a new tube for my 25" Neo Geo with the K7000 chassis.

The best part is that I work at a recycling company that collects and recycles old TVs. Now I all I need to do is find an old Magnavox that works and set it aside before it gets recycled.
