Question for anyone who might be able to help. It seems that my monitor issues are from a bad tube, so I have been looking for a replacement. Currently there is, what I believe to be, a 27" Panasonic in the cab (see photo below) and I found a 27" Panasonic on Craigslist. My question is will this TV on craigslist be a good replacement?

Info for TV on Craigslist:

SN: MC30060583
Model #: CTP2780SF

I'd follow the advice you got through the other boards and try to find someone to troubleshoot it properly first. Very often a bad color is not the tube but the chassis (and usually a bad connection at the video plug or the neck board).

Not to say it can't be a bad tube but doubt it.

I would love for someone to properly check it out ... but it seems there is no one locally who can do this (or at least no one has come foward). A friend is going to do a cap kit on the chassis for me and if that doesn't work then I'm not sure what my options are other then getting a new monitor.

There's several KLOVers in Va and some I think in your area. I would think you can post a "hey is anyone near here" post in the general area, just keep the technical discussion to the actual repair area.
