Tube Dust bunny - grime high voltage death. G05. **FIX**

Ok so I am working on a g05 set and noticed zero high voltage at anode cup.
I thought, gee that strange the circuits are all perfect. Pulled off anode cup from the tube turned it on and charged up a 3000pf HV cap no problem.( Makes fun party grenades) Ok I thought, what is loading it down... tried again to tube with CRT socket removed... same thing, voltage pulled down to zero...

Took a capacitance reading of the tube anode to ground and sure enough that was it, was reading about 5uf while it should have been 300pf... Cleaned the area around the anode cup, sprayed contact cleaner in the hole and the capacitance went back to normal and now works and charges as it should... Good one for the notes.

Chad.

**UPDATE**

Whelp, tube cap value bouncing around again not sure why. My other identical tube is a stable 400pf.

Thought this was the cause for high voltage disruption however turned out to be a corrupt q903 (loaded with ge241?) original tip31b... It was just coincidence that it would pop back when I took the anode cup off.
