I've got about a dozen tubes that are missing their chassis and a box full of chassis that I picked up from an operator. From what I understand, I can't put a 19" chassis in a 25" monitor, but there is some compatibility between other tubes that were the same size. If someone could help me better understand how to check the ohm range on my yolk and how to determine what it is for my my orphan chassis, it would be appreciated. Other than trying not to mixup different sizes or resolution monitors are there any other things that I should look out for that would indicate a tube wouldn't work on a given chassis?

take some pics of all the yokes and measure them with ohms on your meter.
and get any and all serial #'s on them that you can.

when you take pics of them also get a further back photo of the entire frame and pan. you can id some like this as well as long as the tubes have not been swapped out

this is about the only way to id them.

If the tubes suck with burn in and bad guns, please salvage the yokes! With a little research, you can find new donor tubes for those and have a brand new monitor to last you a lifetime. I'm finding yokes with correct impedance (especially 19s) for arcade chassis are getting harder to come by. It's a crap shoot when you buy a TV as well.
