My Gunsmoke screen died. I grabbed another chassis I rebuilt and tossed that in. The picture is super bright even with the Flyback screen pot turned all the way down. I pulled the new chassis and checked a bunch of the suggested components:
C107 on the neck board
Resistors R515, R516, & R517
I decided to try the new chassis on another CRT…it works great.
I pulled out my Sencore and tested the original tube and everything checked out fine, no shorts, good emissions, etc.
Kinda unsure what to check next. Any ideas?

So the tube tests good, the chassis tests good, but together you have your issue?

Bad wiring connections, or a bad trace on the chassis . THey can't both be good, unless you have a failure point somewhere in there.

Make sure you have continuity from pin 7 on the flyback down to it's nearest point below.

Thanks I'll check out pin 7.
Yeah it's strange.
