My wife was kind enough to go on a game pickup today with me to add to my Nintendo row. That was an awesome Valentine's gift. In return, I made her a New York Strip steak dinner at home.

Anyways, this Punchout works but needs some TLC. The bottom monitor needs a cap kit (1/2 inch of video smashed at top) and the PCB has a video memory issue. The black bars move (so its not the monitor) and Glass Joe has a nice purple rash. I suspect video memory, but the 8416's are soldered on board (manual says they are 6116's different manufacturer, same memory), so it will make it more difficult. Reseating all other chips didn't help.

Of course it could always use repro sideart and CPO, but one thing at a time. As you can see the little guy was digging the game. I will post about the black bars/video memory issue in the repair section.

Nice pickup Jeremiah, I'm picking one of those up in about a week or so. My wife also came with me to pick up a Tempest today. What lovely coincidences.

+1 for awesome wives. My wife let me choose a game for my Valentine's/birthday present. It's one I've been trying to find for a while. Arriving tomorrow morning. The spot in my gameroom is all ready for it. Good Lord, I'm excited.

Nice pickup and pic of the young one enjoying it already!
