So i have had this Marvel vs Capcom for awhile sitting in the "to get fixed" area. Well seeing as I started to filter that particular area out got to the machine.
Back Story:
Bought it at an auction. Was told it needed a flyback. From that poitn on it has sat.
Now the simple solution would be to get the flyback replaced but its a pentranic tube and needless to say it seems no one likes me. Plus I wanted to see if there were issues with the board.
So away we go. first thing i did was back to back with another arcade machine (happens to be Marvel vs Capcom 2) try to at least boot the board on the MVC2 monitor. Nothing.

Then I decided to pull out the cps2 system(which is what i believe it is) and plug the jamma into it and the other smaller harness (no clue what the smaller harness is but seeing as they were both Capcom games I figured they serve the same purpose. Nothing.

Then I noticed what seems to be audio and video out on the 1st MVC then cross checking noticed there were audio and video out also on the naomi board goign to another board which the jamma pluged into. I figured pull the cords from the Naomi board and plug them in the cps2 board. FInally the monitor had no image but it seemed to be working(just a blank screen).

As it sits this is where I am at. No audio/No Sound. maybe i have somehting not hooked up right or maybe the board is dead. Can anyone assist?

that would explain all the blood and guts........
now reading into i have a better understanding of what you mean. does anyone repair these on the boards?

it's either a suicide or the A+B boards aren't seated in all the way. I know that sounds absurd considering the metal clips that sandwich the two halves together but they're pretty sensitive.

you want to look into "CPS2 Phoenix" ... it's a rom replacement service for CPS2 boards that eliminates the encryption.
