I have a D/N 360/210-6 soda machine. Upon setting it up, it will not attempt to vend. The coin mech appears to be somewhat functional, it spits out change on demand. It just will not trigger the vend motors (I think). No matter how much money is deposited, it will not vend. My questions...

1.) How much spare change needs to be in the changer for it to tell the machine to vend? I have the machine set for .25 per (for testing) and $1.50 in the quarter slot.

2.) Is there a way to test the coin mech to see if it is even telling the machine it's ok to vend? I have a multimeter...can that be used in some way?

3.) The coin mech is a Mars TRC 6800H. What other mechs are compatible? I also have a MARS 2511 U3 Dollar Mech in this same machine.

Thank you very, very much.

Inserting dollar does not result in a vend, either. Could a bad coin mech cause the dollar accepter to not yield a vend? I have no problem replacing either, or both...but not if I don't hafta...

Stupid question,,, you have enough cans on the rows you are trying to get to vend? There is also a vend relay in the machine itself that the mech will energize.

I have like...8 cans in each row, and the "Sold Out" lights are off. When I insert a dollar, I get the "Deposit Exact Change" light, and no vend. I can get my dollar refunded, but no vend no matter what amount of money I insert. I have about 7 dimes, 8 quarters and 6 nickels in the change tubes.

Is there a way to troubleshoot which part is failing, without swapping out parts? Is there a certain pin on the relay or the coin mech plug I can test?

The 6800H was made in two versions: one for cigarette machines and one for ordinary vending machines. The cigarette machine version has a slide switch mounted behind the electronic coin mech that says "cigarette - normal". In a cigarette machine it would be set to "cigarette" but in all other applications it should be set to the "normal" setting.

Yes you need a minimum amount of coins in the change tubes as specified in the TRC6800H manuals. Check your dip switch settings for your operating parameters you desire.

Here's a picture of a free vend switch I borrowed from sodamachines.com. I Imagine if you put your meter on the two legs where the switch goes, then insert enough money it should read closed?

Ok, I have 20 each of quarters, dimes, and nickels. The vend motors work if I activate them by hand. Somewhere between the coin mech/dollar mech and the vend motors, we are not communicating.

Try making that free vend switch, but without the switch. Just touch the wires together for testing purposes.

Be careful..... Most soda pop vending machines use a 120 volt AC changer. Those free play buttons mentioned are switching live 120 volt power!

I just bought a new mech on feeBay...if that fails...I'll try for a relay....if that fails...I'm tossing it in the river. I paid $100 for the machine, so I still have some $ to play with before I get too upside down on it.

trc 6800h

how do you tune this mech and how do you teach it also looking for a dollar bill validator for this machine it is a dixie narco drink machine trc6800h need help has jones plug

Either contact Mars tech support or ship it to a Mars authorized service center. The TRC-6800H is now a discontinued model.

Coin Changer

I saw you saying your machine could not read dimes; mine is currently not reading quarters. It reads everything else. Whenever I go to do the "tuning", the quarters fall through. I have attempted this one more than one occasion. Do you have any other ideas of what might be wrong or should I ship it off to get it fixed? Thanks!

6800-h

Not sure if this message is of value now.

But, my guess is either the vend relay is bad, or the magnet in the coin mechanism is broken, or not functional.

I had the same problem with my 6800-H, replaced with a new one along with a new vend relay and the problem resolved itself.

Also a good trick to see if it's not a motor problem is to drop all the motors the vend switch inside the valley of the cam. Then insert coin it should start vending from right to left. If you go down the line and one of doesn't vend you may have a wiring issue. If one motor is wired in the line is wrong then nothing will will vend, unless pushing the overide switches.

If it's a Dixie Narco older unit wire #10 much me landed in the middle of the last motor which if it's 6 motor unit on the very far right. Wire 10 sends power to the control panel in which this case would be all the buttons.

Good Luck, I got this same support from Dixie Narco technical support but the same principle should be considered for other motors with wiring, etc.
