this is my first attempt to repair a k7000. monitor powers up to just a dim green screen.checked the B+ and was at 123vdc. recapped it and results were the no better, acually it started going into shutdown and popping the B+ up to 170vdc. I took that reading at the resistor and also on the neck board.fuse is good, flyback is orgianal. what should be my next move? VR or HOT or somthing else ic.? also touched up some solder and tube is verifyed via a working chassis.

There's an entire K7000 sticky you should read, but it sounds like it worked before you messed with it, so go over your work...

i found two cold solder joints so far on this chassis, larger reisistors and reflowed them, still high B+. taking a magniying glass to it and see if I can see anything else.

found one burnt trace touched it up previous but this time I put a jumper wire on it and it fired up so we are up and running 100%, for now...........

glad you found your problem.
i would bet there is more cold solder. i would re-flow everything behind the fly to the power connector. VR, H.O.T, yoke connector and header pins as well.

Peace
Buffett
