Trouble installing 7/16" rubbers used for mini posts

So I've run into an issue with replacing all of the rubbers on my TZ. The small 7/16" rubbers used on the mini posts are tearing when I try to put them on. I can replace the old ones and they go back on without tearing. Can anyone give me some advice on this? Attached is a pic of the posts in question. The seller even sent me another batch of these rubbers but now he's telling me they are supposed to be a larger that stretch between the 2 posts. It's frustrating because I can put the old ones back on no problem other than they are old and dirty. You have to slide them on which means they get flipped inside out correct? That's where they seem to break on me but why would the originals not break when taking them off or putting them back on.

Got them on using your advice guys. Thanks! Still had 3 tear on me but oh well. Just glad TZ is ready for play again!

glad you got them on. I had the same issues with those posts even when lubed. Eventuall went with the silicone rings instead and didn't have any more issues.

yes agreed there was a bad batch of these from a usa vendor that split when you merely looked at them.

in general liquid soap helps

Well damn I went to play TZ tonight and found all 4 of those rubbers that I successfully installed had broken! I just used spit to get them on okay but I can't imagine that would have hurt the rubber. I would have to think I'm getting a bad batch from the seller.
Edit: Does anyone know a source for these that haven't experienced them splitting like this?

its hit or miss, those rubbers work fine on most posts, like the ones wit the pointed tops, but the TZ posts have thicker shanks I think and they need to stretch a lot more to get over the top of the post. I'd recommend the titan silicone rings. bounce like white rubber. or if you want to to act more like black rubber, the superband urethane ones (but I personally do not like these)
