Hey guys, I have a Sega/Sammy Game (JAMMA) that was originally a "Wing Shooting Championship", and was converted to a "Trophy Hunting" game. It is the 2 player model with the 2 full size shotguns. I am possibly interested in converting it yet again to a "Deer Hunting USA" game. My concern is what it would take to do this? I am wondering if I would just need a PCB and marquee? I am also wondering if that game has a 2 player option. My cabinet is a two player with TWO guns. I have yet to see if Deer Hunting USA has a two player option. The deer hunting game also has a "binocular" function and I am wondering if there is a button on the CPO or if you aim at something on the screen and activate it with the gun?

Please advise, and please pardon my ignorance. I did a search and really did not see much. Here is a pic of my Wing Shooting Championship cabinet that was converted to Trophy Hunting.

According to the arcade museum, it is strictly one player. That being said, is there anyway to "piggyback" PCB's with a switch that would enable me to play multiple versions (wing shooting, trophy hunting, deer hunting)? I asked a guy that same question that works for the sega distributor. He said since it is JAMMA, that there mihg tbe some stuff that can be done with it. You guys would know better than anyone.

good looking out. i wonder if those would be compatible? perhaps the deer hunting would only work on player 1. or maybe not work at all? hopefully someone knows. that expense is steep for a trial and error.

Deer Hunt only has 1 gun output connector on the pcb. Trophy hunt has the exact same gun connector as the mini shotgun that Deer Hunt used. You would have to unplug 1 gun to switch between games for it to work. There is not much difference on Sammys hardware. They were basic board's so you shouldn't have any trouble.

If you decide to take the plunge and are looking for a Deer Hunting pcb, feel free to PM me... I have a working one I can sell.

hey guys, bungy and i have a theory that we could use the mike's arcade "double jamma adapter" and run both pcb's. trophy hunting and deer hunting. the deer hunting game only uses a single gun though and i don't think the guns are run via the normal 10 pin connector. i think there are separate connectors for the guns. so i thought about running the adaptor and then a third gun that is dedicated for the deer hunting game. bungy suggested we make a splitter for the player 1 gun though. sounds like a great idea. has anyone ever made (or heard of) such a thing? does anyone on here do this for a price? f not, i think he and i could make one if we had the appropriate connectors.

i just thought i would put these feelers out. i will probably end up calling the sega/sammy distributor and see if those connectors can be purchased.

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

Your idea would work. All you need to do is splice another connector so you can have the gun connected to both boards simultaneously. They used to sale a 2 PCB switcher on ebay for $49.95 + shipping but I haven't seen any lately.

As for the connectors you can make your own. If there is a local fry's they should have some harnesses that will go right onto the gun input headers.

I have never heard of "Fry's", but i will look online. If anyone has a link to an adapter/splicer for that, I would very much appreciate it. I know I am getting way ahead of myself, but I am considering building a new CPO, and either running a 6-in-1 adapter with a 100/1 game pcb added to it, or even converting to MAME. This cabinet is really spacious and has a monster monitor in it. I can not help but to think that I am wasting its potential. I would love to be able to switch from jamma to mame on the monitor, but i do not know how that would be possible. i may have to settle for using the 6/1 adapter, and putting the hunting games in some of the slots, then putting a 100/1 or 200/1 pcb in one of the slots. i could definitely live with that. i think that makes the most sense. i would still need the splitter for the gun. i would prefer not to make that, but i can.

Please don't create some sort of abomination. If you do though, be sure to post pics. ;)

I would keep this game a shooting game and if you're looking for something to play a lot of games then buy a Jamma cab and throw a 1xxx in 1 board in it. A cab with joysticks, buttons and guns all over the place doesn't sound very cool. It's best to have two tastefully done multi-game cabs than a one in all craptacular one.
