So I tried to search if anyone had posted about this but didn't see anything. Today on my Tron I discovered by accident that if you:

1. Enter credits/coin up
2. Flip the test switch inside the coin door
3. Start a game
4. Press player 2 start to cycle through levels and start on any level including USER

Anyone else know about this?

dammit. My games are in storage so I cannot try this. I can finally see the higher levels! (read: I suck at Tron)

It's in the manual. Pressing the P1 start will send you back the select game menu with the level you were just on marked as complete. You can also skip levels in DOT the same way.

from the manual...

I don't see where it mentions skipping the levels. Just that the self-test mode won't start until the game is over.

You are correct sir...

Yep 3-5. Here it is. Funny I never saw it before and there's no post on here about it?

For DOT (EDOT or UDOT), you can use either start button (EDOT only having P1). Since each rack is only 1 game (rather than the 4 on TRON), P1 & P2 on UDOT do the same thing.

pretty sure if you start a game like this it will not save your high score. Which is a good thing IMO. It is a good way to develop patterns for higher levels.

high score..

Yes it saves the high scores on Tron with the level skip.

Atari Tempest with the dip switch for skipping all levels does not save them. Doing the special score pattern trick does however.

The difficulty on Tron stops changing after the 5th level, as in if you can beat level 5, the rest are the same. Just a heads up to all you cheaters >:)

Yes it saves the high scores on Tron with the level skip.

On my machine it doesn't do this. To clarify my machine does save high scores but if I set a new high score in the test mode where it allows you to skip levels it does not allow you to enter your initials at the end of your game it simply advances to the next screen/mode with no option to save your initials and high score.
