I just received a TRON cabinet last week that I intend to restore. Looking through the back of the cabinet I found a loose wire in the power bundle that goes to the monitor. The insulation is yellow with green stripes and the end appears to be soldered stranded wire (first image). The Molex connector still has both of its wires, so it didn't come from there. My question is: where does it go? Based on where the other end goes (second image) and the abundance of similarly colored wires I'm thinking its a ground wire, but I have no idea what it is supposed to attach to.

I also found another dangling wire that comes down from the monitor and is connected to the wire strap that goes around the monitor. So, it's likely also a ground wire, but it's black and clearly has been cut. (third image)

Any ideas what to do with these two?

The game turns on and functions. There are some electronic issues, but not with the monitor.

Many thanks!

Should be a ground wire going to the monitor metal frame. There is on my Tron. If your in doubt use a volt meter and touch one end to the wire and the other to the ground bundle in your picture. Should get close to 0. Usually .0003 to .0006

yes the green striped wire goes to the monitor chassis frame. the black wire almost looks like the DAG wire. you should check where it goes before running the game because if that is the DAG than you will have problems if its not hooked up to the neck pcb. if its the DAG wire it will go to the back of the tube to ground the aquadag.

I found a clip attached to the monitor frame which clearly was intended to have a ground wire attached to it. But there's no way this yellow/green wire could reach that far. Maybe there's supposed to be another wire to connect it?

Probably just cut short. Attach a new wire to the existing one and attach it to the frame

The black wire is definitely connected to the DAG. I found a suspiciously similar looking stub of a wire connected to the neck board (on the right in the picture). Why would anyone cut this? Weird.

Also, is that where the DAG wire goes? I don't have a correct example to look at.

yes that is where it goes. its usually cut when someone pulls the chassis to cap it but i always recommend putting a single pin connectors on it so you can take it apart if service is needed in the future but its up to you. the clip on the monitor frame can be moved closer instead of adding wire if there is a closer spot to put the clip.
