OK... I got a great deal on a Tron board set. the one I was replacing was not doing anything at start up. blank screen. I replaced the cables, and the 3rd board(the one with only ribbon cable connections, no harness connection attaches to it). Anyways... at first, the game booted up, and played good for a few minutes. then I wanted to test the functions of all the buttons, joystick, and rotary knob. well, It went frozen at boot, and now I get nothing again.

The board I bought is in fact TRON, but it's got different connections. the main harness doesn't look remotely like the one that was in the cabinet originally. only the bottom board looked the same, so that's the one I figured I'd replace and it worked at first. I'm thinking there may have been different boards for different cabs(cocktail/upright).

Are there different boards? and any suggestions to what I should do? I REALLY want this game fixed. The cabinet is in near mint conditions. I'd have to say a 9.5 out of 10. inside is dusty. I brushed it off, and vacuumed it out.

Is it possible the temperature has anything to do with it? My Golden Tee 2k2 will not boot up if it's cold but boots up just fine if it's in middle temperature. It's in my garage, and it gets kind of cold out there. Monitor turns on, but nothing comes up. Thanks for looking. Please Help! =)

we need pics of the 2 sets of boards, and close-ups of the ribbon cables that connect the boards.

I have not seen the boards you have in picture 4....they are not standard Tron boards. Maybe someone can provide further info on these?

not that it means much, but i've never seen a tron that looks like what you've got in pic 4 either, and i've seen a bunch of them. Does it say midway anywhere on the pcbs?

2 of the boards say BALLY MFG on them there was tape over the ROM chips that said "Gaming Boards - Do Not remove Tape Under Penalty of Law - Republic of the Bahamas" I obviously removed them because I'm not in the Bahamas and I'm also a law breaker. :)

Top board says BALLY MFG 1984 M645-710

The only board that doesn't say BALLY MFG is the middle board where power cables hook up, and it says M-645-709

Bottom board says BALLY MFG 1983 m645-711

the boards all have the correct ribbon cable connectors though. Is it possible that it's just a board from outside the U.S. and it won't work?

OR is it maybe a discs of Tron board? I have no idea. Never seen one

I can tell you that they are not Discs of Tron PCB's....
Looking at picture 4 of the pics:
I'm going to take a guess and say that the PCB on the left is for a slot machine maybe?
It has lots of transistors, and it does not look like any Bally Pinball PCB's I've seen. I'm not sure about the PCB on the left, it looks similar to a MCR layout, maybe it's a Kick/Kickman/Solar Fox PCB?? I've only dealt with MCR II and MCR III PCB's.

they were all linked together via the ribbon cables on the tron boards(currently in the machine). 5 ribbon cables, 3 bottom to middle, and 2 middle to top. i took the ribbon cables off the questioned boards to put on the old boards. the original cables were shredding so i replaced them.
