From the rgvac post

Ive been working on this for nearly 3 years. Got a tip from someone I
know in the motion picture industry who knows a company that can make
these. Once I hooked up with them it took about 4 months to get it
right. They are a highly specialized company that doesnt take small
projects like this but I convinced them after repeated calls.

I ordered 250 and they only sent me 50 to start and the rest as time
is free for them in between projects. I expect these to go very
quickly. Price is $80 plus $10 shipping in the USA.

First come first served. Paypal at [email protected]

When I run out (which I expect to happen very quickly) your order will
be shipped as soon as I get the remainder of the stock, which could be
as early as 3 weeks or as late as 8. If you dont want to wait please
dont place the order.

I will begin shipping these on Wednesday when the "STAY FLATS" arrive
from ULINE.

If you were happy with the TRON plastics we made this will have the
same effect on you.

Thanks
Darin

Wow very cool for the hobby but not cheap by any means..but im sure they will go fast that one piece pretty much makes the game. awesome news

i can't wait to see one of the new ones lit up next to an old one. The one in my tron is pretty much flawless so the only reason to change it would be because the color was so much better!

Either way, awesome!

Have you ever placed the mamemarquee and an original next to each other to compare?

Sadly, I didn't have an original. I've see side by sides and there are some differences, IIRC mainly the white lines were a little off. But, does it bother me enough to pay $80+ for one? ... Um... no.

I just hope they don't add those to the Tron art package, it's already $530 for that... don't need to see it go up another $80 for a translite.

Sadly, I think that since they're the only show in town for near perfect Tron repros, they've just gotten used to charge'ng whatever they feel like charging and don't think they need to compete with the other guys... saddly, that's not the case. As much as I would love to have perfect repros for my future Tron restoration, $80 for just the translite is a bit too much... I really wish someone else would step up and start offereing the package (in as good a quality at PA) for less, competition is good for the market (and more importantly, IMO) my wallet.

As much as I love phoenix arcade's work and would love to have a brand new translite, my originals are still nice and the price tag on this one will likely keep me away.

$80 seems high to me.. If it actually costs nearly that much, then ok, but if they are ordering 250, I can't imagine their cost is anywhere near that.

much like all retail, the market will dictate if the price is too high or not.

scotty cameron putters fly off of our shelves at $300.

people ask me why they are so much, I say
because people will pay it. And they will do it a lot.

Why spend $80 when u can spend only $29 ?????

Its a no brainer!

you would need to do a side by side comparison installed on the machine turned on and see if there is a difference in the lighting..dont get me wrong even if it was better i still wouldnt pay the $80 but if there is a significant difference i can see how some people would buy it.

I bought it a year ago and it looked good. It looked even better when the lights were off. Thats all I have to say !

I just bought originals for around $30 to replace my two cracked ones. They pop up once in awhile and are usually in great condition.

Am I the only one that finds it odd that a set of Wizard of Wor side art goes for $50 for both but this goes for $80 by itself? Something seems a little askew...

Guys I dont mind the negative feedback, Im used to it by now but would like to defend myself, again. I actually refer people to mamemarquees a lot when they are looking for something cheaper and quality isn't important. I actually get along with the owner.

fwiw, my cost on these is $41. If you honestly think mamemarquees version can hold a candle to mine then I say go for it. I've actually had one to compare. Lots of detail is missing, especially in the cone, much of the blue isn't there. There's a reason I made these (people keep asking for them) and have been trying to do it right for 3 years. TRONFREAK, the price of the trans is not ridiculous (neither are the bent plastics) and all 50 have been sold in less than 24 hours! I recognize most of the buyers names. They are collectors where quality comes first. I know some of you are only concerned about price, mamemarquees is a great place for your money. They are an asset to the arcade community.

So the cost of the art package is too high for Scucci?! Adding the translite would hold you off from buying the art package? Because you were just about to buy the art package right? Do you realize how many pieces are in there? The idea behind the art package is to give a discount for buying all the pieces. You can easily do your own ala carte version. fwiw, I wont be adding the trans to the art package, nor as ala carte until I have enough stock to cover orders.

Flame away if you must, but if you're going to make statements about my products and their price, please be informed about what youre comparing. Have you noticed their TRON side art selling for $189 ($20 MORE than mine) and it's not even close to the original? How about TRON marquee for $20 that is inkjet and not on plexi? Their cpo is inkjet, doesn't fluorsece, isn't Lexan, doesn't use 3M adhesives it's not die cut and doesn't include a spinner decal, but you can save $12 buying his over mine. There's a reason they don't offer the plastics and other TRON art. You decide.

Yes, I've been having an awful hard time selling wiz of wor, even at this price and Im taking a loss on them. Im open for suggestions. I could raise the price again.

I sure was the hero when I sold DK side art, Centipede side art, Baby Pac side art and Baby Pac cpos at or under cost back in 2003. Literally sold 1000's of pieces, even to competitors like arcadeshop. But you cant stay in business pumping out new products that way can you.
