TRON to DOT?

Definitely no with a maybe if you are crazy enough. I have heard that a DOT can be tested in a Tron set up. MCR vrs. MCR-2 set ups. Similar power supplies, but I am sure the 2 has some differences. Maybe all the bells and whistles wouldn't work. The second thing you have to remember is that DOT is reflected/overlayed using a half mirrored mirror and a back lit translite. If the boards could be swapped, you would have one that was a mirror image of what you wanted. All the writing, scores, would be backwards and the controls would be reversed. right would be left and vice versa. Lastly, the spinner on DOT has an up down push function. A pushbutton in the spinner. Also, the stick has an extra button as well. So it MAY be technically possible if you knew what you were doing and you were very skilled. But It would not be cost effective and the end result would be less than the real thing. Of course, if you just wanted to play it, you could always go mame and just gut a dedicated Tron so you could transplant it with a new computer, 200 in new spinners and joystick repros, and in the end, it still wouldn't be as cool as DOT since its not projected on the mirror and have that 3d effect. So the short answer is no, the long answer is maybe, and the longest answer is you wouldn't be happy with the end result.

Hell I used a Tapper boardset on my Discs of Tron. Still working to this day no problems.
