tron stuck in test mode

Don't know, i read in the other post it has to power off and on with the swtich in test or off so i'll try that tonight.

My daughter was playing it and it all of a sudden went out, i got it to this screen by playing with cables, etc. I heard about the purple wire needing cut in the power board, any other thoughts is it's not the switch?

pcb help

ok, one advantage to having 2 trons. i swaped the pcb's and walla working perfect, so here is my next question. The pcb was working great and just quit. Giving white checkered patterns. What would you guys check on it at this point? the edge connector jumpers from one side of the board to the other are very brittle. Would you replace those first? thoughts? thanks

Try swapping the ribbon cables on the two boards and see if you get the same results.

I'd find the test switch first and make sure it's not that. Haven't seen a verification that you have done that.

BUT - since you have two, swap the good power supply into this one and see....

I'm gonna try the new cables from bob first since they are so brittle on this, then i'll report back! thanks guys.

Your daughter was playing it?
Do you have a freeplay mod, or was she putting in tokens/quarters?

Or was she opening the door and putting credits on with the credit button? (which is next to the test switch..)

tron

Wanted to post a followup, Bob roberts is awesome first of all! Got my 5 (rainbow cable) replacements in 3 days, changed them this morning, pluged it in and Bingo, Tron #2 is back up and running! If you have a white screen spend the $15 and change these first! Thanks to all helpers!

I had a Tron boardset do that also and it was the Z80 on the CPU board locking the game up.
