I have my TRON almost working. The issue I'm having is almost everything I control on screen does not show up. In Light Cycles only the lines behind the bikes show up. In the tanks only the grid shows up, no tanks. Trying to get into the I/O stream? It shows up but the bugs and TRON do not. And so on. Any suggestions? I've removed and reseated every IC I can. I got new SCSI cables from Bob Roberts to connect the boards but I have a lot of trouble seeing and I have to get my neighbor to help me put them on right. I was just wondering if I'm headed in the right direction. Thanks

its most likely bad sockets, bad ram on the video board, or a problem with the sprite rams or associated circuitry.

Amy idea what RAM the TRON video board uses? I've been trying to decipher the schematic without much luck. Thanks

4116/6116 IIRC.

It's in the manual.. but I don't remember the page... lemme look that up real quick.

EDIT: Okay... scratch that... not in the manual. Just tells you it's a RAM. But I'm 99% sure it's 4116/6116.

Thanks. I'll look into it.

video ram is either 93419 or 93422 - one is the 24 pin wide chip, and the other is the .4" wide 22 pin, all on the video board. There's 3 rams on the cpu as well, 1 of them is a 6116lp (score and settings save), and the other is equivalent to a 6116. The third one is a 82s09, or 93422- they're interchangable. I'm too lazy to go look at a board right now, but the rams your looking for all an odd size. Wider than a regular 74ls series chip, but narrower than an eprom.

Ahhhh... forgot about the little guys. lol

I'm so used to issues with the with the "regular" RAM that I completely forgot about the others. Good call... To be fair, I haven't -really- looked at an MCR set in a while.

Check with CDJump's. An issue with the RAMs I mentioned will be instantly recognizable as HS table/setting issues, no booting, or audio issues.

Sorry about that.
