When I power up my Tron, it has a frozen screen for about 17-23 minutes, then the standard attract mode begins and all is good. I have attached a short video of the frozen screen that includes the transition to normal.

Any ideas on this type of issue?

Thanks
Rodney

Check your power supply. Make sure all your voltages are in spec.

Check any connectors. You likely have a connector issue dropping voltage, and then as it heats up due to the voltage drop, makes connection and your game comes online.

The 5v line was about 4.4 and the 12v was at 11.8. I was able to adjust the pots to get to 4.8v and 12v. The 5V pot helped me get it up to 4.9, but then it went down and i have it turned all the way up and 4.8 is about as good as I can get. I'm thinking either the 5V cap up by J4 & J5 or the pot that controls it are the culprit.

If it hasn't been rebuilt, rebuild it. Just do it all. No reason to replace one or two parts. Midway supplies work well, but never until after a proper rebuild

This is facebook advice.

I have a rebuilt power supply If you need it. Or I can rebuild your current one. Or you can.

+1 on rebuilding the power supply board. There is increased resistance somewhere causing the voltage drop. Clean and reseat header pins and look for cold solder joints.

ground pins at the Super CPU headers often burn up. when this happens... you lose voltage. you'll need to replace the pins and the power plug. sometimes it burns so much the plug breaks in half.

Rebuild the Power supply - STAT

Always start with the power. Without clean power (no AC ripple) and proper voltages, games don't work.

Look for corrosion on the 2 15 pin connectors that connect the power supply to the harness as well as the 3 and 9 pin connectors on the power supply. Then look for burnt pins on the pcb power connector (J1) and also burnt pins on that J1 connector on the harness. Its probably a combination of all of the above.

Have you tried hitting the reset swtich when it's "frozen"?
