Hi;

I have a HUO Tron LE and I noticed as of late the ball doesn't shoot out anywhere near the same insane velocity that it did in the first 100 plays or so. After consuming many beer, tomdotcom suggested it's just probably dirty, I cleaned it best I could but it didn't really have an impact.

Any suggestions? Perhaps it's just not spinning as fast as it did initially?

i have heard of guys having problems with the disc right after cleaning/waxing the playfield. maybe some wax build up, up in da disc??

I did the same exact thing you mentioned. Mine doesn't shoot out the ball like it did brand new out of the box? My issue right now I'm having is the lower 2 playfield optic sensors going out? The game resets and the GI's go out after I'm playing a good game and drains the ball sucks big time! This is going to be my second time Im replacing both of these optic sensors from Stern I don't understand why they are burning out so fast? Back to the spinning disk I guess you have to clean it after each play?

It isn't the opto itself, it is the PCB. They were not made correctly. The PCB with optos on the ball trough is the problem. Either remove all that clay they call solder and try resoldering them, or you can run a trace wire and solder those on.

What I did was to scrape away some of the PCB close to the pins for the opto and resoldered the pins as well as having solder going directly into the trace. Haven't had the problem since.

Thanks for the heads up! I will check up on that.

Did you wax your PF? I'm having a similar issue. Did you clean yours with alcohol?

Neither. I just used Novus to clean the disc as best I could, and as I said it made little impact. The ball used to just fly out of there, unfortunately I can't seem to get anything close to the momentum it had out of the machine, now.

Maybe I need new balls? I haven't tried that yet...

Why not try soap & water? When I was a kid, when I wanted to make soemthing grip (or become sticking in the case of rubber), I used soap & water.

I have not yet needed to clean my disc, so I don't know if it makes an impact.

Just my $0.02

I'm having this same problem with the ball ending during play. What a hassle.

This is not game specific. I had a bad opto sensor on my TF LE fresh out of the box. I don't understand why it's so hard to have quality control on a very common part, especially considering the price of these games.

I never had any problem with mine after 100's of plays. I have read though, that cleaning it with alcohol works well to restore some of the ball grabbing effect.
