I noticed something wierd while testing a tron board tonight.. The spinner was acting a little wierd, so I went to the diagnostics page.. when I turn the spinner, the numbers move in the correct direction, but they seem to skip around..it will count to 40, then skip to 65 go to 79 then back to 65 then go to 79 again then to 96 then up to 130 or whatever the top is.. I tried two different boardsets and both did the same thing. I dont understand how a spinner board could do that, i didnt think it was positionally aware.. do all the tron boards do that?

tron boards or spinner boards? i would check to make sure the encoder wheel is straight and not bent, and then clean the optical sensor with a q tip to get any dust or dirt out of it. also, make sure you're getting +5v at the optical board.

I finally got around to looking at this... Watching the counter, basically what was happening was it was counting to 15, then resetting/skipping. So now Im thinking, ok, somewhere bit 5 on a register is hosed. There is a 7 bit bus running from the spinner to the SSIO.. First I checked at the spinner, started a 0, checked all the bits, then ran it to 16 (0), bit 5 was high..hmm.. Figured it must be in the harness.. Traced the wire to find the color, and voila, at the molex, there was a pin not locked in..pushed it in, and got a 16 on the screen!
