I've asked several people now and have varying answers.

How far down from the top of your TRON cabinet does the top of your TRON side start?

Sadly I haven't owned a TRON in years. I keep passing them on to friends.

Thanks!

I did mine like this, which im told is incorrect.

I was told the actual placement is higher.

FWIW, if i would have known ahead of time, and there was a taller sideart available, say the sides are the same to match the coutours of the cab but the top and bottom were stretched a couple inches, i would have bought it.

and yeah i know now my inner art was also placed wrong lol. Thats what happens when you get in a hurry to install that kickass phoenix arcade artwork!

Darrin, kickass job on this art. I bought the b grade art from you and i was still very impressed with the colors quality and vinyl. Keep up the kickass work.

One of mine is 1 3/4" and the other is 1 1/2" (including the T-molding) on the right side of the cab. Oddly, on both, the left side art is 1/8" lower.

I referenced the thread below when I applied mine as my Tron didn't have side art on it when I purchased it.

According to that thread it should be

2 5/8th's from the top of the cabinet to the top of the label
1.5 from each side

I've seen some pics of original Tron's with the side art slightly higher and some with it slightly lower. I'm guessing there was some inconsistency from the factory. I'm curious what the proper or most common placement is.

I don't have my Tron near me right now, but FWIW, the factory wasn't super specific BITD about it, part of keeping the line moving. Overall, the most commonly seen method is that the artwork is placed to fit the cabinet. I mean where the sideart's widest point is, so is the the cabinets.

I've got two cabs I'm working on right now, although I'm at work today and can't measure them until later tonight. The widest point of the cab is definately not supposed to be level with the widest point of the art. I can also see that the art on one of a cab wasn't applied quite level by the factory.

mine is original and it starts 2" from the top of the wood cab. I didn't measure from the t-molding.
