Tron Restoration

The game still had the original harness in it but it had been hacked up. I was able to repair it by crimping all new connectors.

Nice work! Great restoration candidate, being cheap, having many original parts, and being a solid cabinet without water damage. Tron repro artwork is expensive, so it's hard to justify a restoration except in rare situations.

Keep up the good work!

Applied Matt black Formica laminate to outsides. This was my first time doing this, I'm surprised how easy it was and how great it came out. The inside was also painted and sanded.
This looks amazing! Where did you get the formica and how did you apply it? I might be doing the same process sometime next month.
Thanks

Thank You! It was from Lowes.
I used 2 sheets of this. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Formica-Br...-Laminate-Kitchen-Countertop-Sheet/1000069741
And I used 1 whole can of this per side to attach it (2 cans total). https://www.lowes.com/pd/DAP-Weldwo...Adhesive-Actual-Net-Contents-32-fl-oz/3819177
I could have bought the larger Cement but I didnt know. I had to go back for a second can.
I think the total cost for everything was about $150

I will say its a whole lot easier than painting or doing vinyl if you want a perfect finish. It really looks amazing and has a flawless finish.

There are whole threads here dedicated to different laminate brands, vertical vs regular, online sources, adhesives, tips and tricks, etc. Search up. There are a lot of fans of it here due to great finish and ease of application!

Very pretty/good work, congrats....I'd love to own one if I had the space for it!

That looks sweet, man -- and you've got three of my jams there (Tron, SW, Defender). I've got a Tron I'm hoping to get back up and running; the boards took a beating during a shipment from Georgia to the SF Bay Area where I am. I'm also going to do the cabinet art over again as you did. Now if I could only find a Discs of Tron, hmm . . .
