Trying to fix an upright TRON, it has bad sound which I traced it down to the power supply board using my known good MCR II boardset.
I noticed that the broken game has a power supply board with a diff part# than what's in the manual. I already have the original power supply board from another game, which is the same part#, A082-90412-C000
The board that came with this TRON has this part# A082-90412-D000. One big difference I see is that this has an extra chip on there, U6 NE555 Timer chip, which has nothing to do with the 12V output - as far as I see but I dont know which game this if from to know - because the schematics in the TRON manual doesn't show this chip.
But this is certain, both boards have a good 12V but only the *-C000 will work properly giving me good sound when the game is running.
