CHECK VOLTAGES. No offense but if you are going to collect these games, you need to learn how to check voltages. Swapping parts ain't gonna cut it.

Checked voltages...got sufficient 5v and 12v coming from power supply. Re seated chips and ribbon cables....same problem...now what?

Arc, it's the first thing I told him to do. He did that LONG before posting here.

Please don't assume - ask nicely, "Did you check voltages?"

honey / vinegar....

Does the game EVER come on any more?

Since you have another Tron cab, have you tried the board in your other cab?

And while you're at it, try your working Tron board in the problem cab, if you're brave enough. If your working Tron board works in your problem cab, you KNOW it's not a cab problem, it's a board problem.

i called erik and walked him thru voltage testing on the power supply board..all voltages are there and correct..he did a perfect job of checking the voltages..so no issues with the power supply... told him to check cables and anything else that might have jared loose....i'm hoping it's something simple that got overlooked..but i have to agree with small...try testing the non-booting board in the good cabinet and see if it's a cabinet issue...tho that would be wierd...stranger things have happened :)

Good Luck Erik..if ya need me..leave me a note and i'll ring ya :)

END OF LINE.

Daniel.

Thanks again for the help guys. At least some of u will actually help me figure out how to test voltages instead of just telling me too...:)

Meh, don't sweat ArcRevival - he's just cranky. There are lots of people here who don't read first and ask questions that could have been answered with just a little bit of searching on the site, so he gets his undies in a bunch a bit about that. But he's good people. You should see the fundraising drive he did for 1badv6 this spring. Nothing short of amazing.

So yeah, we're all people behind these keyboards, no doubt.

Swap those boards and let us know what happens.

ok guys....swapped the board into my good cab and it did the exact same thing....it was cool so it played normal for about 5 minutes...started getting staticy...then froze and started doing same exact thing.

Sounds like a heat related issue to me. An IC on the board could be heating up and locking up the board.

You checked the board good for cracked solder joints or scrapes or nicked traces?

Freeze spray would work well here. If it wasn't so friggin humid out I'd tell you to put the board in the freezer and see if it comes back to life again, but the condensation would cause more problems.

I'd say test your good board in the other cab to be sure.
